What is the difference between trying and allowing?

Do you ever find yourself pushing against life. You know, that feeling that you SHOULD be further along than you are, that you SHOULD be better, smarter, more beautiful…. That sound track in your head is unbalanced and not the reality of you or your life. This low self esteem and problematic sound track comes when we are pushing against life instead of allowing. We place judgements and feel frustrated because our lives don’t meet our expectations.
Instead when we allow we are in balance and flow with life and the universe and we can really celebrate all we achieve and we can be in every moment. The power we hold to grow, change and accelerate is in the now. It doesn’t come from resisting the future or regretting events from the past. But how do we become more allowing so that we can show up for ourselves and others with more peace?
  1. Make the decision to stay grounded – take deep breaths, connect your feet to the grass and earth and make time to journal and meditate.
  2. Keep your reactions to life and yourself in check – exaggeration, drama and blowing things out of proportion create stress and disillusionment. Keep your responses to life and all it’s challenges in check and in proportion to what has happened. Drama and exaggeration costs you energy and reputation!
  3. Set goals but allow the journey of achieving them to be fluid. Do not be rigid in your thoughts, actions and language. When we are open to the way in which life unfolds we are open to unexpected miracles and gifts that relate to our goals.
Look around you at the people you admire, the leaders and the role models that inspire you and see what their attitude and life looks like. Do they resist, do they create drama and are they rigid? No, they aren’t they are connected to the flow and the pace of life and have found peace and happiness in the journey.
Trust yourself, the process and the experience of life – this is how we allow…
