Don’t be scared of growing!

January 24, 2017
Unfortunately many of us have subconscious programming that affects our actions and behaviors unbeknownst to us. Many of us are subconsciously adverse and fearful of change and progress. Whether it manifests itself as fear of success or fear of failure these programs are at play for many of us.
We must take personal responsibility for this subconscious program and change our attitude to progress. Change and adaptability are some of the greatest strengths of character that we can have. We must be open to growth instead of measuring success, failure and productivity. This adjustment of attitude does take some getting used to.
When we attach ourselves to growth instead of the outcome we are far more gentle and allowing of what comes. We do not measure and compare ourselves with others which is much healthier for our sense of self worth and self esteem. When we are open and engage in progress and growth we enjoy the journey so much better.
It’s important that we do not only measure the outcomes and the success of failure as we never feel that we are enough. This sense of failure plagues us all which then eventually reinforces this subconscious program to be open to change.
Make a conscious choice this week to really reflect on your attitude and to change how much weight you place on outcomes, success and failure. Are you open to growth and progress or do you struggle with accepting the journey?
This adaptive mindset makes us healthier, happier and also better parents as we drop expectations of others and become ready to be really present in the moment. We begin to meet the people we love where they are at instead of having high and unachievable expectations for them and for ourselves.
Don’t be afraid of growth, instead have an attitude of progress and learning with all things as a way of getting the most out of our lives and our relationships!
