Are you aware of your behaviour? It is time to study yourself!

August 23, 2016
Your behaviour says a lot about your fears and self limitations. What you suppress often expresses itself in your behaviour despite any amount of energy and control you may try to engage in to keep it locked down and with a lid on it. Have you been in a situation where you didn’t express yourself verbally but it came out in your behaviour? Unfortunately we are not able to be robots and be emotionless so it’s time to get clear and become informed about yourself and your behaviour.
Most of us have cycles of behaviour which when we stop to think and analyse it is obvious. These can be cycles around consistency, punctuality, emotional expression and even addiction. Our behaviour tells us a lot about what is going on for us in our lives emotionally!
When we make time to study our behaviour we can analyse and get clarity about our feelings and make changes that support us better. Without understanding or making time to think about our behaviour and it’s link to emotions we can have behaviour that sabotages us. For example if we have a behavioural pattern where we get sad and eat chocolate and are not aware of the connection it can sabotage us in our fitness goals. Just as equally we can have behaviour of shutting people out and acting cold when we are not at peace with our emotions which can make us feel alone and isolated.
Your behaviour is often a window to your heart for those of us who live more in our mind than in our heart. Challenge yourself to observe yourself this week and be brave enough to ask the question – what is in my heart that I am not expressing in a healthy way that then comes out as sabotaging behaviour?
We are designed to live in community and experience connection. Asking others to observe and lovingly comment on our behaviour also gives us insights to our behavioural and emotional patterns. When we become serious about our success we strive for personal excellence, this comes from understanding ourselves and being brave enough to express and let go.
Study yourself this week and see how your behavioural patterns are supporting and sabotaging you to stretch to a greater level of personal expression and excellence.
