Are you living in your head or are you living in your heart?

Wherever you go, go with all your heart…

Are you a person who expresses their feelings easily? Are you in touch with how you feel and authentically communicate to your work colleagues? Or do you struggle with emotion? Do you struggle to articulate how you feel and what you mean, which means your relationships can often be a challenge?
We all have different strengths and challenges. As such, we have to enhance our strengths and work on our weaknesses. In this scenario there is no good or bad. Business requires you to both live in your heart and your head.
When you can balance both kinds of communication authentically you have a recipe that will enable you to get along with almost everyone. Business is all about relationships, it’s about initiating, maintaining and in some cases repairing relationships.
In our experience, living both in your heart and in your head is what enables you to communicate your message and your purpose effectively. As women in business we can sometimes be criticised for living too much in our heart. In Nic’s case she has received criticism for living too much in her head. The balance between these two is the key and then knowing when to switch from one to another.
When communicating about money, negotiations and strategy, it is best to be in your head space. When building and maintaining relationships it is best to be in your heart space. Ask yourself, where do you find it easier to work from, your heart or your head? Do you naturally have a strength in communicating from one or the other and how is it serving or costing you in your life and business. This is a valuable exercise to do in considering the effectiveness of your communication and relationships.
